The updated Tiger Wall is still an ultralight, three season, free standing tent but it now uses new environmentally friendly fabrics. It retains the lightweight, spacious design with dual vestibule and practical features.
Big Agnes says:
The Tiger Wall UL2 and UL3 are our lightest two door, two vestibule, technical backcountry tents now redesigned using solution-dyed fabric that is highly resistant to UV fade and drastically reduces energy consumption and water use during manufacturing, a process that is better for the environment and improves the quality of the tent fabric. Single pole architecture using DAC Featherlite materials create a simple, yet strong and sturdy structure you can rely on through multi-day trips. The Tiger Wall UL makes tent life easy with weight savings for gram counters in mind for your three-season adventures.
Big Agnes's Tiger Wall UL3 Solution Dye Tent has had a welcome update. A key feature being rolled out across a number of Big Agnes tents is the use of solution dyed fabrics. This is a great move for a number of reasons, firstly the positive environmental impacts which see a significant reduction in both energy and water consumption during manufacture. Secondly, this process means the tents are much more resistant to colour fade from UV.
The classic pole set up remains, keeping the weight at a minimum while providing a good amount of internal and vestibule space. As with most Big Agnes tents there are loads of handy storage pockets inside as well as simple features to make setting up faster and easier. There are a number of other tweaks in the design to bring more welcome improvements creating a more user friendly set up. This is a great tent that provides excellent space for the low weight and this version is much nicer to use thanks to the updates.
