When backpacking we tend to take large rucksacks with multiple pockets for all our gear. The only problem with this is that it can be very hard to secure all the pockets, or any items attached to the outside of the pack. If it's stored in a bag like this then you can secure it quickly and easily into one pouch. The bag then gives you multiple carrying options.
