The Clearwing uses a simple three pole set up to provide a generous amount of internal space, durability, weight and great value for money. This tent is a great option for anyone looking to be more adventurous with backpacking trips.
Sierra Designs says:
The Clearwing 3000 is the European version of the established Clearwing tent. This means the hydrostatic head on both the flysheet and floor is 3000mm. Like the Origonal Clearwing 2, it's a 2 door, 2 vestibule fully freestanding backpacking tent. Hoop poles over the doors provide vertical sidewalls and tons of interior space, and a full coverage, vented rainfly keeps the weather at bay. A hubless pole system allows the Clearwing to pack down small into its burrito bag.
Sierra Designs' Clearwing 3000 2P Tent looks like a traditional dome tent design but the three pole set up works slightly differently and it provides a really good amount of internal space in terms of the usable head height. The simple but highly effective pole design allows you to quickly and easily set up and put down the tent. The space inside is generous for two and the use of almost vertical walls makes the space more practical for sitting up in.
Along with two good sized vestibules for storage and access this tent has good ventilation and stands up well to typical three season conditions in the UK. It provides amazing value for money and although it's not the lightest weight two man tent it is highly durable and practical. The materials used, quality of construction and overall weight are really impressive for the price. An excellent tent for anyone new to camping or prioritising value for money.
