The Big Agnes Tiger Wall UL 2 is an ultralight, three season, free standing tent. It blends two of their best backpacking designs (the popular Copper Spur and Fly Creek) into one intriguing ultralight package.
Big Agnes says:
The Tiger Wall UL tents are our lightest two door/two vestibule, technical backcountry shelters yet. The two doors make tent life a little easier, and the weight savings is especially nice when out for multi-day trip and gram counting. Combining simple, yet strong single pole architecture with DAC Featherlite materials, interior storage pockets, and comforts around every corner, these tents are poised to be a backcountry favorite.
The Big Agnes Tiger Wall UL series of tents has a minimalist pole structure which makes it Big Agnes's lightest two door backpacking tent. If your comparing it to other Big Agnes tents, it sits somewhere between the Fly Creek HV UL and the Copper Spur HV UL in terms of weight and and price. It's basically a successful mix of both designs.
The Tiger Wall has a similar frame system to the Fly Creek, except with the added cross pole across the top which makes it feel more spacious. The Tiger Wall features two doors and vestibules similar to the Copper Spur but without the extra weight. We would say the Tiger Wall gives you the best of both tents and at a price point that sits nicely in-between.
For a two man tent weighing 1030g, it shouldn’t come as a surprise that you might sacrifice on durability. The tent has a 15-denier floor and rainfly, which is extremely thin and should be treated with care - and used with a footprint on most occasions to extend its lifespan.
