The perfect blend of natural and synthetic fibres that includes all of the positives and non of the negatives from each.
Lightweight, long-sleeved top in a soft jersey knit made from merino wool and recycled polyester. Combines the temperature-regulating properties of wool fibres with the durability and moisture-wicking properties of synthetic ones. A perfect first layer in both warm and cold climates, and extra useful on multiday trips as wool naturally resists bad odours.
Fjällräven's Abisko Wool LS is a comfortable multiday use base layer that feels great next to skin. Being a big fan of the SS version and being able to try both, I would recommend the LS version for trips where it is likely to be colder and wetter. When you're not able to take off your shell for multiple days the LS version comes into it's own as it stops the next to skin feeling of a shell.
The mix of synthetic polyester and natural merino wool is a great combo to beat any weather conditions you can throw at this top. It keeps you cool when you're exerting yourself on the way up but then keeps you warm when you reach the top or stop for lunch, truly a top that does it all.
The loose cut of the top is great when you're just wearing the top on its own because unlike many other first layers that are skin tight, you can relax and you feel like you're just wearing a normal t-shirt, this combined with the tops ability to resist bad odours after multiple days of use makes this top a must pack for my trips.
