The Ortlieb Back-Roller Pro Classic 78L Panniers are a great choice for commuting and touring when you need to carry a load of kit. They are well designed, very well built and highly durable. As usual, the high quality waterproof materials used are effective and perform well in any conditions you might encounter.
The largest bike bags in the world are also available in wear-resistant, waterproof tarpaulin material made of polyester. They offer the same payload as the Plus version. The remaining features are identical to those of the Back-Roller Pro Plus: additional front pocket, proven roll closure, and ingenious QL2.1 system for a super convenient and secure attachment to virtually all commercially available bike racks. Those who hesitate owing to a lack of stowage space to venture off on a bike tour around the world, a European bike vacation or a multi-day tour with the family will definitely no longer have any excuses! Time to pack up and take to the road!
Ortlieb's Back-Roller Pro Classic 78L has the traditional Ortlieb style with heavy duty PVC covering the panniers. These provide a huge amount of space for packing and transporting kit. With the roll top lid it does mean that you can adjust the size depending on how much you have in them. With this size you need to take care with your distribution (keeping it even) so you can keep you balance on the journey. The mounts are easy to use, really solid and fully adjustable.
The roll top lid makes access quick and easy. They come with a number of internal pockets, one large zipped pocket and a couple of smaller mesh pockets to keep things organised. There are also a large outer pocket on each pannier which is perfect for sticking wet gear in as there is a mesh panel around it to let moisture out. These have been really practical packs for commuting and the quality of the Ortlieb construction means that you never worry about the contents being exposed to poor weather.
