Black Diamond's Orbit Battery Lantern is ideal for lighting a tent rather than a trail, with some nice features such as the split hanger, telescopic design and flashlight functionality, makes it very versatile.
Black Diamond says:
Bright and ultra-packable, the Black Diamond Orbit Lantern is a pocket-sized collapsible lantern crossed with a powerful flashlight for versatile, travel-friendly lighting.
A lightweight version of our popular Voyager, the Orbit features a super-bright DoublePower LED in a frosted globe for 105 lumens of power in lantern mode, and a DoublePower LED in the bottom for 50 lumens of power in flashlight mode.
The Orbit also functions in dual mode for near-360-degree lighting for cooking, reading and other camp activities. The dimming function allows you to adjust the light to your needs, while the collapsible design stores easily in your pack.
Not as lightweight as many headtorches but this lantern serves a different purpose lighting up an area or a tent for an extended period - especially useful in the winter where a lantern is preferred to a torch.
Some nice touches like the dimmer switch and the 'broken' hook that allows you to hang it from a closed loop at the top of the tent. Also the main globe is frosted so the light is diffused.
Black Diamond have upgraded the main light power to 105 lumens in this the latest model, in the handheld torch mode the maximum output is 50 lumens.
