An amazing pack size, light weight and easy to use, the LiteWater Dighy is a great choice if you're interested in getting into inflatable pack rafts and the adventures that go with them.

Klymit says

A lightweight solo packraft that stows away at the size of a 1.5-liter bottle and weighs only 35 ounces. Engineered for easy paddling and maneuverability, the LWD (Litewater Dinghy) lets you sit up high and features an integrated seat cushion. The advanced design also allows you to recline and enjoy the calm water if you would like. Ripstop fabrics on the top and bottom resist tears and punctures, and the LWD comes with a pump-integrated stuffsack.

Our Verdict

Klymit's LiteWater Dinghy is an ideal way to get into pack raft adventures. At this price and at such a low weight it is pretty hard to beat. Using Klymit's background in inflatable gear this dinghy is really easy to use. When packed, it measures around 12 x 23 cm and fits easily into a dry bag making it really easy to transport. The simple double valve makes it really easy to inflate and deflate with the drybag/pump sack doing the hard work. It took around 12 goes with the pump sack to fully inflate the raft which I thought was pretty good going considering the size of it. There is a small inflatable seat which needs to be inflated before you inflate the rest of the raft (a mistake you only make once!)

There are six lashing points around the raft so you can secure your gear to it while traveling on the water. The raft has a very low profile so there is inevitably some water that splashes over and get in but it doesn't affect the handling. The width of the rear makes paddling a little difficult to start with but it just takes a bit of practice. It may not be as robust or solid as other pack rafts but it is unquestionably one of the lightest, most packable and most affordable ones on the market.
