Exped's Expedition Rucksacks are high capacity, comfortable to carry, tough, weatherproof and yet among the lightest in class.
Weatherproof 100 l load monster. This high volume yet trim and compact pack closes a loophole in the backpack market: a 100 liter pack in a clean design with superb carrying properties, fully weatherproof construction, and low weight for its size. Three years went into the development of the pack and suspension system with stepless adjustability and excellent load transfer properties (< 35kg). A further highlight is the large top lid pocket with 100% waterproof YKK zipper. The refined functionality of the details make it ideal for expedition and winter use.
Exped's Expedition packs are remarkable. This expedition pack is designed for carrying 35Kg (75lbs+) and yet it weighs only 2610 grams and is virtually waterproof. There's an extremely competent harness system (I hesitate to say comfortable when carrying monster loads - but the Exped will do it), easy to operate features and a closure system that doesn't rely on buckles.
So, where did the weight go? We certainly don't feel the harness has been compromised, so it comes down to using the right fabrics in the right places and keeping the features to those that matter.
Simple loops on the hipbelt are for carrying tools, two large side pockets on the pack are for the accessible stuff you need and the large lid has two pockets, one out and one inside.
Thats about it - there's a rolltop closure more commonly found on a drybag used to seal the main compartment before the protective lid descends to cover it - Exped have designed something special - if you need this kind of weight carrying capability then this would be a great choice.
