The Fjällräven Abikso Friluft 35 is a versatile and comfortable day pack constructed from hardwearing G-1000 Eco fabric with a waterproof 500D nylon base. Comfortable, ventilated and designed to last.
Lightweight, hardwearing backpack with fantastic ventilation and excellent carrying comfort – perfect for hiking in warm/humid climates. The carrying system is designed for men: lightweight and stable with a fixed back length as well as ergonomical shoulder straps and a supportive hipbelt with ventilating airmesh. The aluminium frame and mesh back panel let air circulate freely against the back. The main fabric is G-1000 Eco made from recycled polyester and organic cotton, while the base is made from waterproof polyamide for extra protection against moisture when you put the pack on the ground.
Storage is well thought through with a large top-loaded main compartment, generous front pocket and expandable side pockets. The main compartment also has zippers that open up the entire front panel for easy access to contents. The top lid can be raised and has two pockets, and there are two more pockets on the hipbelt for snacks, sun screen and other small items. A loop and elastic cord let you fasten a trekking pole/ice axe to the front. The backpack is also hydration system compatible (not included) with a pocket for a water bladder and an opening for a drinking tube. Rain cover included.
The Fjällräven Abisko Friluft 35L Rucksack has been developed for lighter day hikes and cabin-to-cabin trekking, in both Scandinavia and other regions around the world. It's constructed from G-1000 Eco which is Fjällräven's own hardwearing and versatile fabric, with a 500D waterproof nylon base for extra resistance to weather when placing the pack on the ground. The dense weave of the G-1000 Eco fabric is made from polyester, cotton and is impregnated with Greenland Wax. This combination makes the pack extremely durable, very well ventilated and also wind and water resistant. As the fabric is not fully waterproof it comes with a raincover for persistent rain.
The Abisko Friluft's back panel features a raised ventilation system with mesh and air columns, creating unparalleled ventilation for your back. The shoulders straps are padded but there's no padding on the hipbelt, instead going for a supportive belt with handy zippered pockets.
The bag has plenty of useful features which I wount repeat but I particularly like that the main compartment has zippers on both sides, opening up the entire front panel for easy access to your gear. It's not a common feature on packs this size but it's definitely a useful one. Overall a versatile and comfortable pack ideal for warm/humid climates, that's designed to last.
