The Passport FL120 is a lightweight and compact trekking pole with a simple twist lock length adjustment. Sold as a pair.
'Featherlite' tent poles by DAC are universally acknowledged as the best - highest strength to weight ratio, tightest tolerance, greatest durability and the most dimensionally consistent. The same applies to Helinox Featherlite trekking poles.
The Helinox Featherlite FL120 weighs only 148g per piece! The absolute lightest. The FL120 uses a twist lock system. Sold as a Pair.
Passport series poles provide the lowest weight and the most compact size for the wilderness, on trails and in the urban environment. They have an easy to use screwlock system to adjust the length so it can be fixed or pushed together in no time. Whats also impressive is its very small pack size, ideal for traveling as they hardly take up any space or weight in your pack.
Although the poles are light there also extremely strong as there made with DAC's proprietary aluminum alloy, TH72M (exclusive to Helinox trekking poles), which provides superior strength to weight characteristics. The Passport poles have a nice `slim´ grip that works well. The hand loops adjust easily, which is not the same as some other poles where you sometimes struggle to slacken them off.
One thing to take note of is that the maximum length the poles adjust to is 120cm. Not as long as your average pole so if your on the taller side you might need to check the size. The rule of thumb for fitting a trekking pole is that your elbow should be bent 90° so your forearm is parallel to the ground when holding your poles. Your personal preference as well as the terrain will influence the exact height of your trekking poles. To get an idea of the approximate length pole you need, bend your elbow 90° and use the measurement from the ground to the top of your fist.
