Lowe Alpine

In 1967, Greg Lowe needed a backpack that could carry his gear securely but let him move freely on technical and demanding terrain. He designed ‘The Expedition Pack’, it featured an internal frame, compression straps and other never seen before features. Our first product is now considered the blueprint from which all modern, technical backpacks are derived.

Lowe Alpine is an outdoor equipment manufacturer and supplier that originated in Colorado and is now an international company.
The brand was created by climber Greg Lowe in 1967, brother and climbing partner of noted first ascencionist and early advocate of Alpine style climbing Jeff Lowe. He created an innovative internal framed backpack. Later Lowe Alpine innovations include Triplepoint Ceramic waterproof and breathable fabric and Advanced Paralux System (APS) back systems and more recently their TFX back system.
