The Altvia Light are the lightest weight pants in the range and work well for a range of activities in milder conditions. These pants use a high content of recycled material and are Fair Trade Certified sewn which is a great combination.

Our Verdict
Patagonia's Altvia Light Alpine Pants offer a lightweight option for hitting the mountains in warm conditions. They use a blend of recycled polyester/spandex dobby to provide a nice amount of four-way stretch. This version offer improved breathability along with a the quicker dry time. The DWR coating helps provide some weather resistance for changeable conditions in the mountains. These are really comfortable pants with loads of stretch that make them pleasingly versatile.
The soft, stretchy feel of the material makes these pants really comfortable even when worn for prolonged periods in differing conditions. They are versatile but the lightweight nature means that durability may be an issue if you regularly use them for climbing, scrambling and even hiking in areas with particularly rough surfaces.
