Montane's Dragon 5" Shorts use a combination of lightweight, loose over shorts with a breathable mesh inner brief underneath. This results in an excellent pair of shorts that are well suited to a range of activities from ultra running to gym work or even just hiking. The level of stretch is impressive and makes these particularly comfortable even when the conditions are hot or you've been active for a prolonged period.
The inner mesh brief does a great job of improving breathability and ventilation so they are great in warm to hot conditions conditions for hours on end. The wide waist band is made of super stretchy material making it really comfortable. The waistband has two small stretch pockets to the sides and one larger zip pocket too. All of the materials used are lightweight, fast drying and they breathe well enough.
