Columbia's Horizon Explorer Hooded Jacket is a warm jacket filled with Thermarator synthetic insulation. What makes this jacket even warmer is the use of Columbia's Omni-Heat reflective lining. This thermal reflective technology keeps you warmer by reflecting back the heat your body generates. It also helps regulate body temperature by allowing excess heat and moisture to escape.
The metallic dot pattern makes up 35% of Columbia's heat retaining lining. While the rest of the lining consists of highly breathable fabric that dissipates moisture and access heat. The lining is definitely eye catching, but when it's on you won't see it so it's not a problem.
Feature-wise you have two lined hand warmer pockets and an internal zip pocket large enough for a phone, keys and wallet. The hood has adjustment at the front but not at the back, the hem has a drawcord adjustment and the cuffs are elasticated on the inside to help keep the heat in.
