The Black Diamond Fileline is a true lightweight climber's jacket that is perfect for those looking for a jacket that can be easily pulled out of the pack when the weather requires but takes up very little space. However, it is not to be overlooked as a suitable jacket for other activities as well as its features make it a good allrounder.
There's a fine line between splitter blues skies and afternoon thunderstorms in the mountains. That's why we designed this streamlined, stretch rain shell. Whether you're enjoying a rainy trail run or bailing from a peak during a monsoon, the FineLine featuring our BD.dry™ waterproof/breathable/windproof solutions engineered to shield you from whatever the weather holds. Optimized for mobility, the FineLine has underarm gussets and a stretch fabric, which increases the shell's comfort and durability during fast and light climbing missions. With an adjustable, climbing-helmet-compatible hood and a waterproof center front zipper to keep out unwanted moisture, the FineLine also packs into its own chest pocket. Clip it to your harness with the carabiner clip loop and rest assured that if the skies crack open, you'll stay dry.
The BD Fineline is a super light weight jacket that is designed to keep all of the elements out while feeling comfortable and easy to manoeuvre in while running climbing or walking.
The Fireline offers a good alternaitive to carrying a full shell jacket, because it offers a jacket that can cope with all of the elements that you would find out on the hills, but is very lightweight and packs away small so slips into the top of your pack with very little fuss.
the DB Dry offers a good hydro static head of 10,000mm which will pretty much protect you from most of even the heaviest showers will throw at you. While remains breathable so can be worn on those days where it doesn't know whether to be bright sunshine or pouring rain, without too much condensation.
The gear loop it comes with is very handy for being able to clip it to a harness, so if you are stuck belaying for a while at the top of a route you don't have to worry about a sudden shower making it a miserable experience.
This jacket is definitely aimed more towards the climbing side of thing rather than traditional hill walking, due to its features but there is no reason that it couldn't be used for many activities, particularly if you are looking for a lightweight jacket that offers an alternate to a heavier Gore shell.
