Lightweight insulated Primaloft pants, designed to work with the Mountain Raid Jacket. Legs can be zipped together, connected to the jacket and NEW foot pod to create a uniquely lightweight sleep-system.
OMM says:
The Mountain Raid Pant is an insulated overnight camp or winter hill day pant using the same level of insulation as our sleeping bags. Combining the PointZero wind shell with 60g Primaloft Gold filling to create a pant ideal for cold and wet conditions. The Mountain Raid also offers a alternative to a full sleeping bag and insulation layer when combined with the Mountain Raid Jacket & Mountain Raid Foot Pod to create a minimalist sleeping system.
OMM's Mountain Raid Insulated Pants are amazingly light and have a very small pack size. The use of Primaloft Gold Eco insulation enables these pants to provide you with a good level of warmth, even when wet, while maintaining the low weight and packability. The Point Zero outer fabric is windproof, breathable and again helps with the weight. This sleep system is designed for warmer conditions or people who are happy to make sacrifices from weight over warmth.
These pants have zips up to the crotch on the inside of each leg which, when unzipped can be used to zip the opposite legs together forming sleeping bag style coverage. It does work pretty well and when combined with the Foot Pod and Jacket creates an interesting sleep system however, you are not going to get the same level of warmth from this as a sleeping bag but this is an exercise in minimalism with the jacket and pants doubling up as your warm layers anyway. The zips are a bit fiddly and I certainly haven't worked out a way of converting them either way without taking them off to start with so you have to be ready for it.
