This tough but technical piece brings excellent performance and protection to a versatile jacket. The balance of hardwearing G-1000 with stretchy, breathable fabric panels is allows it to be used in a wide range of conditions and environments.
Kaipak Jacket is designed to work just as well on the trail as for everyday use. Fjällräven’s hardwearing G-1000 Eco resists wind and brief showers and underarm stretch panels give you excellent freedom of movement. The jacket also ventilates out moisture efficiently, which makes for a drier experience during intense treks. Three zippered pockets and one inside pocket – perfect for things needed close at hand.
Fjällräven's Kaipak Jacket takes a similar approach to the highly successful Keb but with more of a focus on the tough G-1000 fabric for a hardwearing piece of kit. It's durable design is well balanced with comfort and style. The blend of solid G-1000 with a few small but useful stretchy, breathable fabric results in an awesome jacket. The subtle two tone colouring of the jacket reflects this combination where you can clearly see and feel the difference between the materials, with the durable G-1000 in all the places you need it most. With the addition of Greenland Wax you can make the G-1000 very weather proof but the stretch material is not as easy to make water repellent.
As with most jackets in the range you are not short of pockets. There are a number of large pockets, all of which are secure zip pockets for keeping anything you can think of safe. The hood gives great coverage and is adjustable for changing conditions. This is one of the best jackets in my opinion as it provides a huge amount of protection with the G-1000 and uses a small amount of well placed stretchy breathable fabric that push its performance past that of many of the other jackets.
