Columbia's Alpine Traverse Jacket utilises Polartec Alpha Active insulation with a comfrotable stretch fabric to provide lightweight warmth with high levels of breathability.
Heading out for a mid-season hike? This water-resistant, insulated drop tail jacket will keep you cosy in cooler temperatures. No matter what your adventure throws at you, the breathable fabric ensures your comfort, and you can stow your belongings in the zippered hand pockets for safe keeping.
Some of you may have used, or at least read about Polartec Alpha insulation, a more modern version of a lightweight fleece, that keeps you warm but lets sweat out, even when active. Well the Polartec Alpha Active insulation is basically the same but with the mesh liner removed, so you get more unimpeded airflow (not to mention less weight and bulk) without sacrificing warmth. It also feels super soft against your skin!
To protect this, Columbia have used a nylon ripstop shell which resists light rain and stains, keeping you clean and protected. The jacket also offers a comfortable stretch thanks to the stretchy panels used down the sides and under the arms, providing a better freedom of movement.
Overall a great jacket for active use in changeable conditions, balancing moisture control and comfort when on the move.
