A large harndlebar bag with a load of features. Big enough to hold all of your important items, with easy access in a durable and waterproof bag. At this size it could easily provide enough space on its own for commuting or a part of a luggage system when bike touring.

Ortlieb says:

This waterproof handle bar bag is the perfect storage for maps, papers, wallet etc., and everything is quickly accessible. The Ultimate6 Plus is made from PU coated Cordura fabric and offers plenty of space for valuables.

Once on the handlebar, a single turn of the key prevents the lid from being opened and the bag from being taken off the mounting. The removable internal dividers allow flexible design of the interior. The magnetic lid is easy to operate, opened single-handedly and it locks almost automatically.

Ortlieb's Ultimate 6L Plus Handlebar Bag with Magnetic Lid is designed to provide safe and secure storage bike bike touring. This bag uses the new style Cordura fabric which looks great and shaves off a decent amount of the weight compared to the Classic range. This is not without compromise with cost and durability suffering slightly. This bag provides the greatest amount of space at 8.5L and is perfectly suited to bike touring. It works well for commuters too as it is durable, waterproof and can easily be attached to the handlebar. This design allows the bag to be locked to the bike and it can also lock the lid so if you need to leave your bike for a short amount of time you need not worry.

In addition to the usual hardwearing waterproof material used by Ortlieb, the inner has a foam coating on the lid and plastic frame to maintain the structure of the bag. Internally there is an small zip pocket to keep things in and it comes with a shoulder strap which Orlieb say can be used to carry the bag around. It is not great when used in this way as its somewhat uncomfortable and awkward to carry. However, as a handlebar bag it does a great job.

I own 4 front rollers, two rear classic rollers and one huge mistake erroneously called the ‘ultimate' 6L. It has been the worst experience I’ve had with ANY bag in 40 yrs of travel. The attachment and extender mechanism worked perfectly. The bag did not. 1. Lid deformed immediately to the extent I had to spend a minute or two fitting it back on then arranging it so the magnets engaged. They never did again once I began using it. Try retrieving and closing a deformed lid in torrential rain. I had to keep everything in separate plastic bags. 2. The design encourages every thing to collect on the bottom. And makes organizing items a constant need. 3. And this is most important. The strap system is so flawed I stopped using it rather quickly. I keep my Olympus omdem1 mark ii. (1 kilo+-) glasses, maps, iPhone and charger along with keys, pens, pocket knife in it. Three times the strap left the bag and three times I caught the camera in freefall or the bag itself from a collision with the street. Know what watching a 3000$ camera heading south to meet its end? Do not consider this poorly designed and poorly executed design. Search YouTube reviews before consideration you can see what I experienced on a daily basis.
