The Descent is a great pack designed for epic backcountry expeditions. With a range of features to work perfectly in the coldest conditions this is a hardwearing, top performing pack. It would work as well in the city as it does on the slopes with Lowe Alpine's usual high quality build.
Lowe Alpine says:
Fully featured, multi-purpose ski pack. Padded back protector with rear pack entry. TriShield© Dura fabric panelling in critical areas. The perfect pack for winter pursuits. Ski touring, freeride or snowboarding.
Lowe Alpine's Descent ND 23 Litre Rucksack is designed for tough, cold weather use. The durable TriShield Dura fabric is used in areas that will get more abrasive use and there are numerous reinforced parts to make sure this pack can stand up to real punishment. With a good internal volume when compression straps are loosened off you can fit in everything you want for a day on the slopes.
There are a lot of well insulated parts to this pack with the back, hip belt and shoulder straps made with the same padded, insulated material as the hydration tube cover and top pocket. The pack has two main internal pockets, one with smaller additional pockets for organistion and the other pocket set up for a hydration setup.
There are multiple lash points, ice axe loop, detachable helmet holder and adjustable external straps that can be used for carrying skis and snowboards or even simply compressing the pack. All of the buckles and zips are designed to by used while wearing gloves
This bag has been well used and shows very little signs of it so we're looking forward to the winter to put this to the test in the mountains where it was designed to excel.
