The Big Agnes Seedhouse SL1 is a three season, free standing, solo tent designed for lightweight backpacking and bike touring.
Big Agnes says:
Seedhouse SL tents have become the signature series in our backpacking line; superlight pieces of gear designed to stand the test of time and the backcountry. Like a gin martini or a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, Seedhouse SL tents are simple, efficient, and classic. If it’s your cross-country bike tour or the weekend peak you’ve been looking to bag, the Seedhouse will forever be faithful.
Big Agnes have upgraded their ever popular Seedhouse range of tents. Seedhouse tents are simple and effective shelters. The cross pole arrangement gives you plenty of headspace. Numerous pockets in the tent inner along you to stay stay organised. A new feature for 2019 is the side zip allowing you to access items stored on the side of the tent. Though the side isn't as protected from the elements as the porch.
Unlike many other ultra-lightweight tents, the Seedhouse series is freestanding, so it's easy to set up and easy to position into the ideal location after it's been pitched. They're constructed using a DAC Pressfit pole system with lightweight Angle hubs that attach to the tent body with plastic clips for a quick and easy set up. The poles and fly attachment are colour coordinated so you would have to try really hard to mess it up. The vestibule is not as large compared to other Big Agnes tents but there's enough space to keep your rucksack and boots dry, and to cook up some grub with a small stove.
