The Challenger 2 is a large four season tent for two. With loads of space, great access and a solid design this tent is great to use in any conditions at any time of year.
Due to the special design of the frame with two aluminum hubs, the Challenger has several benefits. It has a high stability with a spacious inner tent, quite large vestibule at both entrances and a very good space-to-weight ratio.
Because of its two large, drop-shaped entrances and a length of 220 cm, it is also suitable for very large people. The large entrances, along with four Apex ventilation flaps, offer very good ventilation possibilities and facilitate the handling with the equipment. Through the so-called Ridge Pole in the upper roof area, the fly is extended on both sides of the tent. This improves the rain protection when the entrance is open. Some additional hiking sticks make it possible to expand the awning area by stretching the open door forwards as a roof.
The tent is equipped with 11mm poles. On the one hand, it slightly increases the weight, but on the other hand it provides a higher storm stability. The open doors of the inner tent do not have to be rolled up elaborately. Instead they can simply be stuffed into two mesh pockets in the roof. In various other net bags, you can organize your small stuff comfortably. The upper half of the inner tent doors is made of mosquito gauze and cannot be covered.
||||Zero-G Line - Are you searching for a tent to take on long trips up mountains and along valleys, through wind and rain and snow? Thanks to their eco-friendly, anodised aluminium poles they are perfectly suited to performing well under extreme weather conditions like high winds. |
Wechsel's Challenger 2 Person Tent is a spacious four season tent. With a four pole structure the tent has a good sized inner and two huge vestibules. The pole setup creates a solid structure that can easily cope with high winds, rain and snow. The two cross poles also provide versatility as the door configuration on each side give you loads of options when it comes to access, storage and use. Both doors can be rolled back for maximum ventilation in warm weather or can be opened in several ways to allow you to shelter from wind and rain. This means that the Challenger 2 genuinely works well in summer and winter.
This tent comes from Wechsel's Zero G Line which are backpacking tents for all seasons. They use lighter weight fabrics than the expedition lines but still provide enough strength and durability for use in all conditions for many years. This tent is great for year round use with enough space for two people to be genuinely comfortable inside, vestibules big enough to store all your winter kit and doors that open wide enough for easy access rather than struggling through a gap trying not to pull out a peg or burst a zip or seam!
