The Big Agnes Fly Creek Platinum series delivers an ultralight tent with a mainly mesh inner and uses new ultralight fabric for the outer, with a redesigned pole construction the Fly Creek HV now has more room inside.
Big Agnes says:
The lightest, three season, crazylight tents.
Incredibly lightweight and technically designed, the Fly Creek HV Platinum tents utilize the latest in fabric, high volume architecture, and pole technology. Climb mountains, explore new territory, bike-pack the length of the North American West Coast or pack-raft into the wildest backcountry canyons. Do it all with more livable space than ever in the Fly Creek HV Platinum Series. It's a sign of our commitment to be lighter, faster, and better prepared for whatever nature throws your way. If you want the lightest, free-standing double-walled tent available, then look no further.
Big Agnes' Fly Creek HV2 Platinum Tent uses the latest superlight materials to lower the weight bar without affecting quality. With this trend we are seeing much bigger lightweight backpacking tents offering more comfort, in many cases for less weight. The Fly Creek is a good example of this concept, the mesh inner gives a good level of ventilation, reduces the weight and can be used for stargazing on warmer nights without the fly sheet.
The High Volume part of this tent is the redesign of the pole structure which adds significant extra space inside. The Fly Creek has storm guys which also act to keep the volume of the inner at maximum as well as giving some reassurance during windy conditions.
