A strong, intelligent design to make this expedition tent highly versatile and practical whatever the weather. Quality construction with great materials and inventive features make this a tent to use as often as you can.
The ultimate 2-person tent is absolutely fitting to describe the Forum 4 2. Numerous trekking and outdoor experts helped develop this tent, sharing their experiences and ideas for the design. The result is a tent for two people suitable for the most diverse environments. The geodesic pole construction crosses four times, which brings added stability against strong winds. The tent is completely freestanding, and both of the big vestibules do not need to be anchored either. One special feature are the four entrances on the fly, so that one entrance can always be set up out of the wind. Both of the inner tent entrances have access to their own entrance areas and vestibules. In addition, the opposing entrances provide for optimal ventilation of the tent. The vents on both the fly and inner tent can also be closed, and the large mosquito-netting doors on the inner tent can be completely covered to prevent unwanted drafts. Four inner tent pockets and a gear loft in the inner tent create order. The details make this tent unique: for instance, one of the zipper bases is connected with a string to the bottom edge of the corresponding door of the fly. When the zipper is opened, the material of the door also goes up, keeping it out of the dirt.
The fabrics of the Unlimited Line are processed with high stitch density. All tents of the line have YKK zippers specially developed for tents as well as closable ventilation flaps, which can also be operated from the inside. The storage package contains a compression pack and reflective guy lines with guy line pockets and strong tent pegs.

Wechsel's Forum 4 2 Tent is a practical expedition tent. The use of three poles, all crossing over at four points, creates a strong and stable frame that can certainly withstand 4 season conditions. This pole design also means that the tent is totally freestanding, including the large vestibules which is great for when you don't know what the ground is going to be like. The first few times you thread the poles through the sleeves it seems a little too tight but it does fit together easily and feels solid straight away. The heavier fabrics give you confidence that the tent will keep performing through the wind and rain whilst also providing durability to keep it going for years. This does add some serious weight compared to other modern 4 season/expedition tents but you might be happier with the improved durability which I certainly have been so far.
The space provided by this tent is great. The large vestibules are perfect for storing kit and the dual doors on each side mean that you can always shelter from the wind and accessing the tent in difficult conditions is made much easier. Inside there is plenty of space for two, compared to many other two man tents, with four decent pockets and a gear loft to make organising your stuff easier. Other clever design features like the guyline pockets, ventilation options and zips on the doors, which are attached in a way that prevents them going onto the wet or dirty ground, also add to this being a practical tent.
