A great dome tent for three season camping. This is a quality tent that's easy to pitch, has good internal space with two large vestibules and good ventilation. Even with top quality materials, durable construction and all that space it comes in at a surprisingly low weight which is a bonus.
The Rogen is an excellent choice for any trip during the snow-free months of the year where very light weight is of the highest importance. It is well-suited to nearly any adventure, and especially for those who prefer dome construction. In addition, its self-supporting design – only the vestibules have to be pegged out – make a good choice for tougher pitching conditions.
Two equal length crossing poles create the basic shape, while a shorter pole in the roof provides head room in the vestibules and adds to the overall stability of the tent. For 2017, we have replaced the Lock-Tip and dual opening pole sleeve system with standard poles and single opening pole sleeves. We have also built catenary patterning into the bottom of the outer tent walls. This retains the constant venting that comes from having the outer tent stop short of the ground, and makes for both easier pitching, especially in windy conditions. Both inner tent doors are nearly all mesh, encouraging full time air flow, and both vestibules can be rolled partly or fully away for added cross venting.
The Rogen’s spaciousness and self-supporting construction, along with its remarkably low weight and the comfort of its two vestibules, will appeal to paddlers, summer mountain scramblers, backpackers, bicycle tourers, and hunters, among others. These same traits also make the Rogen a compelling choice for solo travelers who value roominess and maximum comfort.

Hilleberg's Rogen 2 Person Tent provides a great amount of space for such a low weight (for Hilleberg). The two pole, double entrance design gives a classic dome tent with a good amount of space inside and large vestibule areas for storing kit and staying organised. The dome design provides strength while the materials used and construction result in a durable tent that works well in most conditions. It is not a four season, or winter tent, but it will still cope well in weather you'd regret camping in.
The Rogen is quick and easy to pitch with external pole sleeves and the inner already attached, making much easier than many others. It has a higher cut on the fly to increase the ventilation and it does a good job of cutting down condensation. The vestibule doors can be folded back to provide a huge sheltered space for cooking in poor weather. The vestibules are genuinely my favourite part of the Rogen as they are massive compared to any other tent I've used so they make it a much more versatile three season tent in the usual 'summer' conditions we get in the UK.
The details in the design, materials used and quality of construction result in a fantastic tent. Hilleberg focus their designs on quality, durable tents that provide shelter from the worst conditions. They use a label system to differentiate their tents and intended uses. The Rogen falls into the Yellow Label category which are: designed to be very light and to provide comfort appropriate to use in warmer climates and/or snow-free conditions; offer a lightweight balance of weather protection and constant air flow; interiors are designed to maximize light weight while providing sufficient roominess.
