The Tempest gives you a classic tunnel tent design with huge amount of space inside and in the vestibule. A strong tent that's able to stand up to the elements while still being light enough to carry for longer trips.
The 'Tempest' is available in three sizes, as a 2, 3 or 4-person tent, in the light weight Zero-G line. It is an asymmetrical tunnel tent with three colour coded main frames. Due to the unique cut of the inner tent, it also offers a comfortable sleeping place for large people. It has a rain-protected inner tent entrance and a large vestibule with two entrances. By "unclipping" the front tip of the inner tent, the space in the vestibule can be enlarged. Simply push the unhooked inner tent to the rear. In this way, there is more room, for example for cooking. The front door of the fly sheet can be rolled up completely. That allow a very nice panorama view and easy handling with your gear. All sorts of small stuff can be organized in several mesh pockets in the inner tent.

Thanks to their eco-friendly, anodised aluminium poles they are perfectly suited to performing well under extreme weather conditions like high winds. |
Wechsel's Tempest 2 Backpacking Tent is a great option for an all-rounder tunnel tent. With a strong traditional design and a low cut fly this tent stands up really well to the poor conditions regularly experienced in the UK while providing enough space for wet weather days when you are stuck in there for longer than you'd like. The materials used show immediate quality and have proven to be very durable with extended use.
The tent is easy to pitch and is great to use. The two doors give you some options depending on the weather but I found it easier just using the one larger entrance anyway. A good sized vestibule is spacious enough for all your kit, while the low cut fly sheet provides extra protection for any gear stored there. The internal space is impressive and allows two to sleep comfortably with kit in there too. Nice little touches like the pockets on each guy line to pack and store them in when not in use are another aspect that make Wechsel tents stand out.
