The updated Outdoor Research's Alpine Bivy is a whopping 250g lighter than the previous version but still offers a tough and durable bivy bag to protect you from the elements at a low weight.
Outdoor Research says:
The newly revamped Alpine Bivy for Spring '19 is 37% lighter than its precursor, the heralded choice for solo winter alpine pursuits. The Alpine Bivy features the seam-taped waterproof performance of GORE-TEX® Respiration Positive™ technology - without collecting interior condensation. A traditional clamshell opening lets you breathe freely without letting in the weather, and a single pole can be used to create overhead space or left at the trailhead to save weight.
If you like to travel light but often find yourself in bad weather conditions, the Outdoor Research's Alpine Bivy offers rugged protection from the elements in all seasons. It's made from 3-layer Gore-Tex Respiration Positive body fabric which allows you to breathe comfortably while managing condensation and shielding you from rain and snow. It has an attached No-See-Um Netting at the opening which is chemical free and will prevent bugs from getting in, without restricting your view. It also comes with a single pole which can be used to create extra over head space. Great for those who don't like to feel so confined. You can attach the hood to the pole for those pleasant nights with just the mesh for protection.
A high-volume toe end for gives a little extra foot room. It's an excellent lightweight bivy for keeping you comfortable and protected on the go. You could even leave the pole at home if you needed to save some extra weight on a trip.
