The Technical Cotton tents & accessories from Nordisk offer a luxurious camping experience and awesome aesthetic appeal.
The Nordisk says:
For each Legacy cotton tent you can acquire one or more tailored cabins depending on your needs and the tent model. For the smaller tents one cabin fits the tent, while the bigger models fits two or more cabins – and some of these can be zipped together as one or kept separate with a thin mesh wall between the two compartments. All cabins have easy-to-fit attachments points and lots of details including a two-layered door with both cotton fabric and mesh, which can be used together or separately. In larger tents the cabins also have windows that fits the windows in the tent, so you can look out from inside the cabin.
Nordisk's Cotton range has traditional styling with modern, technical elements. The ‘Technical Cotton’ fabric used in the tents that we stock is actually 65% Polyester and 35% cotton, this makes the fabric have a lower weight and more durability than if it were 100% cotton, due to the strength of man-made polyester yarn.
The fabric doesn’t have a coating on it like modern tent fabrics, but it is still water repellent. When cotton gets wet it expands, sealing itself and becoming rainproof. The hydrostatic head result for these fabrics is quoted at 350mm, this is fairly low in comparison to nylon tent fabrics, but the properties of the cotton still make these tents able to withstand heavy and persistent rain.
These are really impressive structures when set-up and you can really make them homely for long family holidays.
