The Technical Cotton tents & accessories from Nordisk offer a luxurious camping experience and awesome aesthetic appeal.
For all Nordisk Legacy cotton tents you have the opportunity to add an extra groundsheet to protect against humid grounds and dirt. Only exceptions are Asgard 7.1 and Ydun 5.5 which both are equipped with an integrated groundsheet. All zip-in-floors are tailored to each tent model and can all be zipped in as the tent is already equipped with a zipper in the full diameter of the tent. By adding a groundsheet you avoid moisture coming up from below and thereby improve the living environment inside the tent. Moreover it helps you keep the inside nice and clean which is a great advantage – not least if you go glamping.
Nordisk's Cotton range has traditional styling with modern, technical elements. The ‘Technical Cotton’ fabric used in the tents that we stock is actually 65% Polyester and 35% cotton, this makes the fabric have a lower weight and more durability than if it were 100% cotton, due to the strength of man-made polyester yarn.
The fabric doesn’t have a coating on it like modern tent fabrics, but it is still water repellent. When cotton gets wet it expands, sealing itself and becoming rainproof. The hydrostatic head result for these fabrics is quoted at 350mm, this is fairly low in comparison to nylon tent fabrics, but the properties of the cotton still make these tents able to withstand heavy and persistent rain.
These are really impressive structures when set-up and you can really make them homely for long family holidays.
