Our Verdict
OMM's 2020 Classic 25 Rucksack balances durability and weight surprisingly well. The updated fabrics on this version are clearly a lot more hard wearing and easily stand up to the challenges of the mountains. Despite being a fairly simple, stripped back design this pack has some great features. The 25L capacity is ideal for ultralight overnight trips and more generally as a day pack for all seasons.
There are really good sized hip belt pockets, a big secure lid pocket, side and rear stretch-mesh pockets and OMM's UGR (universal gear rail) for adding all manner of extra kit to the pack externally. The hipbelts are removable if you're trying to shed weight, as is the foam Duomat insert, which I leave behind more often than not as I'm never going to use it for sleeping on!
