Sea to Summit's Ultralight Hammock Single XL is an incredibly lightweight hammock made from highly breathable fabric that wicks moisture away. The built in compression sack helps it pack down to a tiny size.
Sea to Summit says:
Our Ultralight Hammocks features a specially designed 20D Nylon monofilament fabric. It’s whisperlight appearance is matched on the scales, coming in at a tiny 140g (single). The fabric is more than strong enough to take the load of a sleeping camper, rated at 135kg. Being a monofilament fabric, it is also highly compressible making for a miniscule packed size. The buckle on the Ultralight is made from high strength, lightweight aluminium 6061 to shave extra grams. The webbing loop is triple bar tacked to the hammock to ensure long term durability.
Sea to Summit have claimed their Ultralight Hammock's are the lightest in the world and that's great news for us ultralight hikers. But there is one important thing to remember - saving weight always comes at a price. As they're made from superlight nylon 66 monofilament fabric, they wont be as durable as other heavier hammocks so you will have to be careful not to batter it around to much. they have also been rated to hold up to 300 lb/135 kg - again good but not as much as heavier hammocks.
Taking all that aside, they are incredibly lightweight hammocks with the single size weighing in at only 158g and packs down to the size of a can of coke. No other hammock does that! I would definitely partner the hammock up with the Sea to Summit Hammock Suspension Straps if you want to continue keeping the weight down as they are also the lightest straps around.
