This light and compact three-season insulated pad has been completely redesigned from the inside out and R-Value rated by a third party. Designed with a smooth and stable sleeping surface made with durable nylon rip-stop and larger outside tubes to cradle you on top. Warm and highly packable insulation on top and bottom make this air pad lighter on your pack than most in its class. Save your breath for the adventure ahead, and use the included upcycled pad inflation sack to inflate.
The updated version of the lightweight, compact Big Agnes 2020 Insulated Air Core Ultra inflatable sleeping pad is ideal for lightweight backpacking. Designed for 3 season use, the pad features a layer of WRM HL insulation on the top and bottom. This durable, high-loft synthetic insulation provides exceptional warmth with minimal weight and bulk.
Durable I-beam construction provides stability while reducing weight and bulk. The outer chambers of the Air Core Ultra are bigger than in the original Air Core, which will keep you cradled in the middle so you don't roll off in the night. All the latest pads from Big Agnes have received an updated air valve for easy one-way inflation and convenient, super-fast deflation.

From 2020, there is a new industry standard for measuring the R-value (level of insulation) of sleeping mats – ASTM F3340-18. This new standard is the sleeping mat equivalent to the EN rating for sleeping bags.
You can now directly compare the R-value of mats rated using the ASTM F3340-18 with confidence that is a fair and accurate comparison between mats. In simple terms, the higher the R-value, the warmer the mat.
In general terms, an R-value below 2.0 is for summer use, 2.0 to 4.0 is for cooler 3 season use and 4.0+ is for winter temperatures. This will be also be dependent on your sleeping bag, how cold you sleep etc. Please contact our customer service team if you need advice on choosing the right mat for your activity.
