Designed to be worn all day in the mountains, the VR Alpine Light provides outstanding comfort in varied conditions. Lighter and more versatile than ever using re-engineered Vapour-rise technology.
Why carry three layers when you can wear one? With its new Vapour-Rise™ system, our Women’s VR Alpine Light Jacket provides all the thermal regulation, moisture management and weather protection the alpine adventurer needs.
As part of our highly technical Ascent range, the Women’s VR Alpine Light Jacket comes with a double-ended YKK VISLON® front zip for easy belaying, plus a lightweight elasticated hood with windproof peak. It also features large venting chest pockets for extra airflow, as well as elasticated cuffs and an adjustable hem for a tailored fit. But the real key to its mountain credentials lies in our re-engineered Vapour-Rise™ system. Built on the back of two years’ research and development alongside Leeds University and the Association of Mountaineering Instructors, it uses brushed polyester and mesh linings to wick moisture away from high-sweat zones. The breathable Pertex® Quantum Air shell then controls the dispersal of that moisture, keeping you dry during arduous ascents and warm when you need to rest.
As practical for skiing as it is for hiking, scrambling and mountaineering, the Women’s VR Alpine Light Jacket is the definitive multi-sport mountain softshell.
Rab's Womens VR Alpine Light Jacket is arguably the most versatile jacket in the VR range. Providing a balance of warmth with a light insulation, protection with the hood and performance with the mid-weight package. The use of VR Wicking and VR Airflow ensure this jacket is focused on providing maximum breathability with the technical ability to quickly and effectively wick moisture and help regulate temperature to an impressive level. No matter how hard you're going this jacket will perform brilliantly to keep you comfortable.
The Pertex Quantum Air fabric used on the outer provides exceptional breathability without sacrificing protection from the wind and rain, with the addition of a good DWR coating. The VR Alpine Light sheds weight with limited features without losing the practical feel. It is certainly much more of a mid-layer for all-year round use. Two decent chest pocket provide some storage while the elasticated hood and cuffs keep things lightweight and simple.
