This hip pack was made from 100% deadstock fabric scraps, which helps keep good material out of the landfill.
Deadstock is leftover high-quality fabric that hasn’t been used by the original manufacturer or retailer. Using deadstock reduces textile waste and is better for the planet. On average, a product made with deadstock has an estimated 30% smaller carbon footprint than a product made with new fabric.

Our Verdict
The Kapai 3L weighs 196g and offers a practical layout with enough room for essentials like a phone, compact layers, wallet and keys. The padded back panel provides structure and sits flat without digging in, while the wide hip belt distributes weight evenly and maintains its position during movement. A fleece-lined sleeve inside the main compartment protects sunglasses or a phone, and a front pocket with a key clip keeps smaller items accessible.
The materials feel solid, and the zip tracks run smoothly, even when the pack is full. The grab handle is helpful for transitions, and overall balance is good whether worn on the hip or front.
