Rab says:
Whether you’re negotiating heather-strewn fells or hard-working inclines, this technical five-panel cap is essential headwear for trail running and fast-paced mountain missions. Engineered with a breathable softshell fabric and laser-cut holes for ventilation, it keeps you cool and dry, while the soft peak and unstructured design allow you to stash it with ease
Our Verdict
The Rab Talus 5 Panel Cap is a great option for fast-paced mountain days. At just 42g, it’s barely noticeable on the head, and the Matrix softshell fabric and laser-cut ventilation make it one of the most breathable caps I’ve used. The 3D mesh headband manages sweat well, even during climbs, and the soft peak means it stows easily in a pocket or vest .
The fit is low-profile and stays put without bouncing, though the brim’s shape is quite minimal. The low-profile rear adjustment is both comfortable and precise, making it easy to dial in a secure, personalised fit.
