Compact, lightweight, and purpose-built for shade. A reliable bit of kit for sun protection on the move.
Montbell says:
Lightweight umbrella designed for use on sunny and rainy days. The polyester canopy effectively shields heat and light while the dark interior helps reduce glare. Its hydrophobic properties also help repel water and stay taut when used in the rain. The six resin-reinforced carbon fiber ribs achieve a lightweight, compact design that is easy to pack along while traveling.
Our Verdict
The Montbell Travel Sun Block Umbrella 55 weighs just 154g and folds down to 25 cm, making it one of the most compact options available. It slips easily into a side pocket, ready to deploy in seconds. The 20-denier canopy fabric provides UPF 50+ protection and a dark interior that reduces glare, keeping you cooler in intense sunlight. The frame is reinforced with carbon fibre for strength without bulk, and the foam handle is comfortable in hand. While it will shed a brief drizzle, this is not an umbrella for heavy rain or wind; it's built for solar defence, not storms.
