The C Bart tent is perfect for people who want to upgrade their camping setup and don't want to break the bank. It is a strong and robust tent, made from slightly heavier material, that you can trust will shelter you in bad weather.
Big Agnes says:
Get into the backcountry with a lightweight shelter option designed to provide plenty of room without extra bulk.
Streamlined architecture, with a single head entry door, combined with ample gear storage in the attached vestibule and interior mesh pockets means you don't have to sacrifice efficiency for comfort and convenience. A waterproof fly and floor made from durable recycled fabric will keep you dry when the skies turn grey.
Looking for a high quality, technical tent without breaking the bank? You're looking for a C Bar.
Our Verdict
I don’t often use the term “entry-level” in a positive way, but the C Bar 2 earns it. This is a genuinely well-built tent at a very reasonable price, with premium components in a streamlined, beginner-friendly package. This is a solid place to begin if you’re looking to start wild camping or backpacking without committing to a high-end ultralight setup.
At just over 1.8kg (excluding pegs and bags), it’s not a featherweight, but durable recycled materials, a stable DAC pole structure, and proper weatherproofing justify the weight. Set-up is foolproof thanks to colour-coded webbing and a simple hubbed pole design, and the new TipLok buckle makes pegging out the corners smoother.
One large door leads into a modest vestibule—enough space for your pack and boots, and perhaps a brew-up if the weather turns. Two side pockets and an oversized ceiling pocket help keep your gear organised. It's manageable for two, though narrow mats are a must. Personally, I find it far more comfortable to use solo.
