Our Verdict
The Boundary Shirt is made from brushed cotton flannel with a soft, slightly weighty feel. At 421g (Medium), it sits firmly in the casual layer category. The regular fit gives enough room for a thin layer underneath, and the fabric has enough structure to feel snug and durable. Rab’s take on brushed cotton offers a smooth interior and a clean outer surface that holds up well to regular wear.
Breathability is fine for strolling or light tasks, but the heavier cotton makes it less suited to demanding hill days. The dropped rear hem offers decent coverage when moving around camp. Details are simple and practical, with a single chest pocket, tidy cuffs and a straightforward button layout.
Durability seems good, with the stitching and buttons feeling secure and the fabric showing little sign of stress after repeated use. The overall feel is that of a solid everyday layer that works well for cooler evenings, travel, and post-walk pub stops, rather than sustained aerobic activity.
