Wax impregnation for garments in G-1000 fabric. Rubbed on and melted in for a water resistant and durable surface. Made from high-quality paraffin and beeswax, which makes Greenland wax more gentle towards both people and the environment than chemical-based impregnation. A wax block of 100 grams will be enough to wax about ten garments.
Our Verdict
Fjällräven's Greenland Wax is the secret weapon in Fjallraven’s arsenal, and can be used on any garment built from any variety of Fjallraven’s G-1000 fabric. It provides both waterproofing and wind-resistance, and the levels of each can be easily customised by applying more or less of the wax in different areas.
For example, waxing the shoulders and hood of a jacket would vastly increase the water-resistance in these crucial areas, while maintaining the breathability and flexibility of the garment in the rest of the jacket. To apply, simply rub the wax on the areas you wish to enhance, and the iron it on a low heat without steam. If you want to reset the jacket, the wax will easily wash out on a warm cycle, allowing it to be reapplied where desired.
