Our Verdict
The Black Diamond Astro 300 is a simple and stripped down version of its bigger siblings the Cosmo and Spot, however still packs in a lot of features for its size. The Duel fuel means that while supplied with AAA batteries it is also compatible with Black Diamonds Lithium Ion BD 1500 battery.
With a multitude of digital lock mode to prevent battery waist from accidently leaving it on, a high level of water resistance so no need to worry about the rain and brightness memory to keep your previous settings when you turn it back on.
For its price point the Astro offers a lot and is a reliable lightweight headtorch, even if it doesn't have some of the fancier features.
