Ortlieb's compact messenger bag doubles as an daysack and waterproof commuter pack. This versatile piece is a favourite with cycle commuters. It features an interior pocket with zipper for organising small items and a carrying handle.

Velocity’s little brother has all of the features of the big brother, only in a somewhat smaller size and a volume reduction of 6 liters. Our Verdict
Ortlieb's Velocity Rucksack has had a few updates to bring it up to speed. Firstly, this all new 17L version for those after a smaller pack. It is still a comfortable, reliably waterproof rucksack that is ideal for students, weekends away, commuting and city walks. The updates include more ergonomically shaped shoulder straps that are much more comfortable, especially when the pack is full. It also features a removable, padded laptop case (fits laptops up to 14" in it). The dimensions of the pack are ideal for work but are just as useful for throwing showing, clothing and anything else you need to transport.
The padded shoulder straps are comfortable for carrying and the adjustable chest strap and wide waist strap help ensure a secure fit. The padded back has air channels which provides optimal ventilation for cycling and long walks. The pack has protection around the bottom corners on the rear side which helps prevent abrasion from heavy use. The pack also has reflective detailing on the front and back and features a fixing for a bike light, which can also be used to attach a bike helmet.
