Our Verdict
With an adjustable hip belt and adjustable torso length, it’s easy to tailor this pack to your specific body shape, transferring its weight more effectively. The hip belt being incorporated into the breathable backplane hugs the body, without feeling constrictive, eliminating hot spots, and the need to stop and adjust the pack when on the move.
Large foam shoulder straps spread the weight of the pack over a larger surface area, and are backed with a highly breathable mesh, which helps keep you cool.
The Maven 55 has a large top mouth for access just like any traditional bag but also has a full-length zip down one side, and a further zip around the base. This gives you a few options for access, so you could get your cooking gear out without having to pull your tent, sleeping bag, and rain gear out first. This is a nice quality of life addition
3 large mesh pockets, two on the sides, one with side trail access, and an oversized stretch mesh pocket on the front of the bag, that’s is brilliant at storing wet gear.
The pack also comes with its own custom-fitted rain cover, which is good to see as increasingly you need to buy another separately
