Leki's Makalu Series Trekking Poles are the workhorse of the LEKI Trekking and Mountaineering ranges, this particular pair are the heaviest in the Series mainly because they extend to a whopping 145cm from 110cm, so these will be suitable for just about everyone not matter how tall. That extra length can also be useful if you are using your trekking poles to support a shelter, be it a tarp or trekking pole tent.
We especially like the rubberised top of the handle because thats where the palm of your hand goes when you are descending, it feels really positive.
Because of their overall length the packed size is 71cm, which is a bit long.
