Our Verdict
The MTN Arete LB uses Polartec Power Grid fabric in order to create a base/mid-layer that offers a very high level of wicking performance that is ideal for fast moving an intense activity in the colder months.
The Power Grid allows moisture to be effectively wicked away from the body preventing any damp or colds spots as well as preventing you from overheating during any higher exertion activity. The Polartec is also very stretchy so feels very comfortable to move around so hits the spot for winter climbing, biking or any activity where the upper body is required to move.
The MTN Arete LB is a very generous fit so I would advise downsizing if you are wanting to use it as either a base or mid-layer in order to get the best performance. With the stretch in the fabric as well you can definitely get away with a tighter fit.
