Our Verdict
The Mountain Equipment Aerofoil Cap is about as minimal as I’d want a cap to be without compromising on function. At just 28g, it’s barely noticeable on the head, but the EXOLITE softshell fabric offers enough stretch and wind resistance to stay comfortable across a range of conditions. It wicks well, dries quickly, and the soft, rollable peak holds its shape after being stuffed into a side pocket.
The rear strap adjustment is low-profile and easy to adjust, which helps keep the fit dialled without fuss. While it’s not a deep cap and doesn’t offer loads of coverage, it’s a strong pick when you're prioritising speed and ventilation over full shade.
