Rab's Ascendor hoody is a top level mid layer that uses breathable wicking fabrics in order to keep you dry and warm while you are trying to perform to you max in colder conditions.

Our Verdict
The Rab Ascendor fleece uses Grid fleece technology in order to make a midlayer that provides both excellent warmth but also a very high level of wicking that makes it ideal for any winter climbing or fast moving in colder conditions.
The Grid Fleece allows for highly efficient way of moving any moisture away from the skin which prevents any cold or damp spots. This in combination with a breathable Thermic G outer fabric prevents overheating while on the move.
Fit wise the Ascendor is a good close fit allowing it to be used as a base-layer or as a technical midlayer in combination with a base-layer, especially with the amazing range of movement that you get form the stretch fabric. The hood is also very stretchy so will easily fit over a helmet for winter climbing or even in cooler spring/autumn conditions.
