Our Verdict
The Rab Light Hoody uses Grid fleece technology to make a mid-layer, making temperature regulation much more effective in warm and cold conditions. The Grid Fleece allows for a highly efficient way of moving moisture away from the skin to prevent cold, damp spots. This, combined with a breathable Thermic G outer fabric, prevents overheating while moving.
The Ascendor Light Hoody is a close-fitting garment that moves and stretches with you, so they are suitable for scrambling or any form or rock climbing. The cuffs and the hem are both elasticated to keep the heat in when needed, but if it's starting to heat up, the front zip can quickly ventilate heat.
The hood is an excellent addition to add warmth and block out the wind; it, too, has an elasticated hem.
