Our Verdict
Rab's Outpost Jacket, is a tough retro style fleece that combines modern technology to create a fleece that is very, very warm and also one of the toughest fleeces out there.
The use of Polartec 300 helps to keep the warmth in and is very comfortable making it something that you really want to pull on those colder days. Integrating the Matrix stretch fabric also means that there is a very good range of movement and stretch so it doesn't feel to cumbersome and therefore makes for an excellent mid layer in combination with a shell or outer-layer for dryer conditions.
The outpost is a generous fit so plenty of room for some layers underneath, but a shell will fit over the top quite nicely. It also has too large pockets on the front that are nice and cosey.
