Our Verdict
Rab's Photon Insulated Pants combine functionality with warmth in a reasonable packsize. The full length zips on both legs remove the need to remove your boots when putting these on when the temperatures drop.
The fleece lined pockets provide enough insulation for electronic devices such as GPS/Phones to not lose charge due to the cold conditions.
The reinforced areas on the bum, knees and inside ankles show that Rab has thought about who is going to use these trousers and provided some reassurance that they won't rip on the slightest thing while in the mountains.
